Night Shift

So I have not been posting lately.

I moved onto night shift. Its interesting working when the sun goes down. I must say that it is much quieter, which isn't all that bad. I get to listen to my ipod an work at my own pace.

Filming!

So, supposedly the aquarium is used for filming quite often. The area is home to several television and movie filmings. Today we had a film crew in for a new show that is in pre-production. The kicker is that Wilmer Valderrama [Fez from That 70's Show] is in it and was at the aquarium today.

So Halloween is coming up very quickly. If you see me, and can find me, I will be dressed as Waldo this year.

Professional?

I also am getting my own business cards courtesy of the Aquarium. I also get my own phone line, which should be really cool.

Who ever said that that I wasn't professional? I suppose that being this goofy isn't a block to pretending to be professional.

New Schedule

This week I am working Tu-F from 5:30am-4pm.
Next week I am working M-Th from 5:30am-4pm.

Another day plus some teeth!

So I helped out again with the shark tank, just like two days ago. Again it was quite fun. Since the sand has been moved from the bottom of the shark lagoon, a new bottom was glued down. In the process I was able to get a hold of some teeth shed by a few inhabitants , including: Sandtiger Shark Carcharias taurus teeth (the two pics above) and a single freshwater sawfish tooth (the pick below).

I also got to do the rounds with only minimal help. They say that I am getting better already. The boss also bought pizza for the crew today since nearly everyone was SCUBA diving today to fix the shark lagoon. So all in all, a good day, and I am learning so much.

First Day

Today was my first day. Things were so hectic as there is so much to learn. Today I was part of the surface crew for the SCUBA divers that were fixing the shark lagoon. They had to tear up the original sea bed since it was leaking sand. We did that from 8 in the morning until about 3 pm. After that I got to work on the filters to fix them up. Then I helped to clean out the big coral tank....we changed out 15,000 gallons of water. It was an awesome day!

I do miss you guys. I will be back Friday night.

Here finally.

So I am finally in SoCal. Have to go back one more time to Fresno to gather up the last of my things and clean up the house. Gonna spend a few days with my dad before I have to become a slave for the 'man.'

I am kind of getting annoyed with my landlord trying to get things closed up....she is being quite bitchy about the whole situation trying to squeeze more money out of me.

Moving Day!!

So today is moving day. My life in Fresno has begun to wane, and my life in Southern California begins. Today my dad is coming down with his truck to pick up my stuff to haul south.

I have not seen this room empty since I moved in, odd how things cycle like that.

I will obviously miss everyone, although I look forward to meeting some new people. You can never have too many friends. Once I get settled, I expect to see a few of you down here in Long Beach visiting me.
